The "In Medias Res" series has a new exhibit, "How One Story Becomes Another". This is a group exhibition featuring artworks from local and regional artists in dialogue with the poetry of former Louisiana poet laureate Darrell Bourque.   • While many high school graduates receive funding and assistance to enter their freshman year at a higher education institution, fewer scholarship opportunities exist for students continuing their education. To address this, the One Acadiana Scholarships will be awarded students from LSU Eunice, SLCC, Unitech, and UL Lafayette.   • AcA presents Louisiana Crossroads: a special one-night-only concerts in the James Devin Moncus Theater featuring two or more artists with a musical connection that ties back to Louisiana. The show includes an on-stage interview with the series’ new host, Herman Fuselier, to help tell the story of the artists, representing traditional and contemporary music alike. Arbo, Nashville up-and-comers, return to their hometown for an electrifying evening of music, as they bring their unique blend of folk, rock, and Cajun influences back to where it all began.   • Basin Arts and KRVS come together to co-produce Art Circle, a monthly conversation between Dean Daryl Moore of UL Lafayette's College of Arts and two guests, a visual and a performing artist. These run on the final Monday of each month during the 3 p.m. Après-Midi program. This week, Dean Moore's guests are, writer, Kelly Clayton and visual artist, Vivian Broussard.
  • Youth campers ages 8-13 enjoy a fun-filled week of music, crafts, singing, and very special activities on a folklife campus. Kids Camps are open to all levels of young musicians. Just bring a guitar, a fiddle, or a 10-button diatonic accordion in the key of C, and we’ll fill the days with music classes, band labs, singing, dancing, indoor/outdoor games, crafts, cuisine, and fun. Instrument loan options are also available. The Lafayette camp will take place June 10-14 and the Opelousas camp will be June 24-28.   • The Skyliners Big Band has been providing music from the Big Band Era and the Great American Song Book to Acadiana for 74 years. The band features 17 local musicians and 2 awesome vocalists. The next dance will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2024. All dances are located at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette, start at 7 PM and end at 10 PM. Membership is not required to attend.
