  • In advance of the October 14 election, the League of Women Voters of Lafayette will host several non-partisan candidate forums. All candidates in contested races are invited to participate. All forums are free and open to the public, and provide an opportunity for voters to learn about the candidates directly. All forums will be recorded and broadcasted on AOC.   • BVPA will host its annual State of the River meeting on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Performance Center at Vermilionville in Lafayette. This event is designed to provide information to interested citizens about current developments and challenges in the Teche-Vermilion Watershed and on the Bayou Vermilion and allow for valuable networking opportunities between members of our watershed community. This year, presenters will have booths or tables. Audience members will be able to seek information about topics of interest to them, and presenters will be able to answer questions directly.
