  • Lafayette Reads Together has entered its ninth year as a community-wide reading program, and they invite you to be a part of it. This annual event was created to get our community reading, sharing, and discussing the same book. Free copies of the book will be available at all library branches, donated by the Lafayette Public Library Foundation, beginning Tuesday, January 17.The 2023 book selection is Closer to Nowhere by Ellen Hopkins.
  • This support group is for persons with aphasia. This is a supportive and non-judgmental place to speak openly about struggles and successes. They meet the first Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Burke-Hawthorne Hall, Room 236B. It is hosted by the UL Communicative Disorders Department, the Speech and Hearing Clinic, and the Aphasia Center of Acadiana (ACA), Inc. The ACA also offer a support group at the same day/time in room 249 for caregivers, spouses, friends and/or family members of persons with aphasia. So, come find community together!   • Festivals Acadiens et Créoles Legacy Series will take place on the first Thursday of every month. Each event will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Feed & Seed Lafayette. The FREE monthly series celebrates local legends who have made, and continue to make, an impact on our cultural community. The Legacy Series will explore every aspect of Acadiana’s heritage, including music, culinary arts, artists, craftspeople, and more. The goal is to create a community event series that honors historical, contemporary, and future cultural traditions.And join the AcA celebrating the rural traditions of Mardi Gras in the big city, at La Danse de Mardi Gras!   • Join the UL Lafayette School of music for their final concerts of the Fall 2022 season! The department will host two concerts, one Wednesday, November 30th and the symphony orchestra hosts the other concert on Thursday, December 1st at 7:00pm!
  • A turning point for music in Acadiana. Celebrate the season with us at this Christmas-themed concert, and one of Acadiana’s most beloved holiday traditions. Each year, the Symphony performs a cheerful and familiar repertoire of popular Christmas songs, alongside a revered local guest artist who has contributed to local music culture.
