Spring Art Walk will be held on April 29th from 2-6 PM this year in beautiful Downtown Lake Charles! We are shutting the roads down all afternoon for event full of live art shows, live music & entertainment, art & food vendors, as well as Student & Adult Art Wars!

Ode to Joy is widely considered to be Beethoven’s greatest work, and one of the most supreme achievements in the history of western music. Southern Gothic is a fun horror film festival run by a team of passionate filmmakers and artists from Lafayette, Louisiana. Our festival promotes the growth of our local film community all the while bringing to the forefront those who aren't usually recognized in the independent horror community including women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community. Hosted by horror filmmaker Brooke H. Cellars and local drag performer Martini Bear! Filmmakers who attend will get the opportunity to network with other filmmakers during the fest. We will also have a Q&A session after every block so you will get to speak about your films to an audience of horror lovers! We want to be able to include other artists in our festival as well. There will be artists vending in the Cité des Arts lobby and the entertainment will be provided by our amazing local drag community! Costumes are highly encouraged! Art in the Park will be held on April 29th from 10 am - 12 pm, and it is a great opportunity for the public to participate in and enjoy the event. The event is free and open to all.Many benefits of participating, including the opportunity to create your own work of art and take it home, activities for all ages, materials provided, and classes led by local arts professionals, including Imperial Calcasieu Museum Resident Artists!

Habitat for Humanity is partnering with UL for a Stuff the Truck event, where we will pick up gently used items donated by students, faculty, staff, and member of the community. By registering to volunteer you will be helping us load these donated items into the Habitat for Humanity ReStore truck. The exhibit, "Common Ground: Artists Inspired by Place," will open with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at Glide Studios Lafayette, 715 Lee Ave., Lafayette. The show, hosted by Harold Bernard, is a cultural celebration of art with works by seven South Louisiana artists.
