How the end of CPB funding and support will make it necessary for KRVS to find other revenues to keep on the air.
-
Here’s where we are: Congress has voted to end Corporation for Public Broadcasting grants that have supplied one-third of KRVS’ annual revenue. Since the White House executive order in May that urged the withdrawal of already allocated federal funding for public radio and TV, we’ve kept you current with developments.
-
Without federal grant money, we're not able to offer the variety of music, heritage language and information programs that enrich your life.

“Nonc” Jules Guidry has hosted programs on KRVS for close to 42 years, most recently live in the studio for the weekly Bal de Dimanche Après-Midi from noon to 3 p.m. Sundays. As a producer and a performer, over the decades he’s shared a deep love of Cajun music. Recently he decided to step away from the microphone. He’ll host his final live program on Sunday, February 9. With chagrin, we bid a fond au revoir et bien merci for all “Nonc” Jules has done to maintain the language and culture of the place we call home.
