Science on the Bayou Amphibians & Reptiles of Louisiana - June 14, 2023

Join us for two talks about the study and conservation of amphibians and reptiles in Louisiana! Our speakers for this event are Brad "Bones" Glorioso and Lindy Muse.

Bones will be talking about his research at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on the proposed threatened Alligator Snapping Turtle. He will share information about his work capturing head-started individuals released by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), as well as information about these turtles' unique lingual lure adaptation. Lindy will be talking about the Louisiana Amphibian and Reptile Enthusiasts (L.A.R.E.) group. She will discuss its mission as well as the many sources of educational material and the opportunities for others at L.A.R.E. outreach events, field trips, and occasional citizen science efforts.

As always, Science on the Bayou welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to join us as we learn about the research and development in our community!

*There will be live animals in terrariums at this event for viewing as part of the presentations.
