Basin Arts and KRVS come together to co-produce Art Circle, a monthly conversation between Dean Daryl Moore of UL Lafayette's College of Arts and two guests, a visual and a performing artist. These run on the final Monday of each month during the 3 p.m. Après-Midi program. This week, Dean Moore's guests are writer and spoken word artist, Candice Lee, and ACA visual arts coordinator, Emma Sonnier.

Canopy Spirits is hosting a Bamboo Workshop, taught by James Wolf, at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective in Arnaudville, LA from May 29th to June 1st. The primary focus of the workshop is creative building with bamboo; there will also be a large scale sculpture of a cypress tree stump being constructed. NUNU announces a new summer discussion series on architecture, community development, and historic preservation. The Avenue of Flags, a project founded by the Sons of the American Revolution, is a stunning display of patriotism and is the largest display of memorial flags in the United States. The flags are flown on both sides of the graveled roads winding through Orange Grove-Graceland Cemetery, on Broad Street in Lake Charles, each Memorial Day and Veterans Day. They will be raised at sunrise and lowered at 4 PM before the sun sets. For more information, click here.

Taking place in the LITE Center in Lafayette from May 23 - 24, the Reframing Cinema Film Festival will set the foundation for what will become a lasting tradition of celebrating diverse cinema. The RCFF is produced by Vues de Culture, an organization dedicated to developing and producing cultural narratives across all artistic platforms, including film, visual arts, music, and literature.
