Louisiana Words is a soon to be nonprofit that has its origins in Lafayette from 2013, when it was the launchpad for the first ever Acadiana Pride Festival. The CWPPRA Public Outreach Program is pleased to announce the public debut of two exhibits, "I Remember...": Louisiana Reflections and Stories of the Past and "I Hope": Visions for a Sustainable Future in Coastal Louisiana, at the Acadiana Center for the Arts from April 14th - May 14th, 2023. Both oral history projects highlight the disctinctive memoirs and apirations of the people who have used Louisiana wetlands as their home and work environment throughout their lives. Petits Cajuns is a series of music camps held at different times of the year. At these events, young children are immersed in traditional Cajun and Creole music. Students come to learn as both beginners and novices on instruments such as Accordion, Guitar, and Fiddle. Singing is also a large part of what we do. Students learn and perform songs with traditional French lyrics. Registration is now open for the Summer session, June 12-16 in Erath. Poisson Rouge believe in the preservation of Louisiana culture.
