100 Black Men Sickle Cell Walk/Run and Health & Wellness Expo
Join us for the highly-anticipated annual Health & Wellness Expo, presented by 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette, Inc. in collaboration with VFit Health & Fitness Promotion, Acadiana Black Nurses Association, Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana and Flatland Runners. This year, we are thrilled to bring back the impactful Sickle Cell Walk/Run to commemorate Sickle Cell Awareness Month and make a difference in the lives of those living with sickle cell disease in Lafayette and the surrounding areas. Abbey Players presents The Game's Afoot
Abbey Players is putting on "The Game's Afoot" directed by Mitchell Prudhomme. This comedic murder mystery tells the story of Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes. He has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of Christmas revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. 8th Annual Save the Basin Event
On Sunday, March 17th, 2024, Atchafalaya Basinkeeper will host its 8th Annual Save The Basin event at Artmosphere in Downtown Lafayette! Come enjoy the unique Cajun-inspired artists, silent auction, raffles and stick around for live music from Michael Doucet et Chad Viator, Forest Huval Band, The Babineaux Sisters and Drew Landry. Every attendee receives a raffle ticket for a swamp tour for up to 6 people with Basinkeeper Dean Wilson. Guest speakers will be discussing our organizations’ most critical achievements in the Basin and some of the most troublesome hurdles to date facing our progress in conservation. All proceeds from the event – including 10 percent of all food – will go directly towards protecting and restoring the Basin. Le Grand Hoorah 2024
Le Grand Hoorah is about creating and fostering relationships focused on preserving the music, food, language and folk arts of the people of Acadiana. The festival will be held at Lakeview Park starting on the 27th with music, followed by a boucherie, jam and more music on teh 28th then closing out with a French mass on the 29th. The music lineup is out now, and is filled some of the hottest LA music acts from Bonsoir Catin to Pine Leaf Boys.
