Festival des Fleurs de Louisiane is part celebration of spring's arrival, part fundraiser for UL Lafayette's Ira Nelson Horticulture Center, and part educational outreach and resource for the enhancement of horticulture in Acadiana. Over 100 expected gardening-related vendors provide the show's main attraction. Festival-goers discover a wealth of resources and activities as local gardening societies host displays and informational kiosks that will share gardening techniques with attendees. Visual artist, Peregrine Honig, is returning to Lake Charles for a series of masterclasses with students at McNeese University Oct. 6-8. Downtown Lake Charles welcomes Honig to the DPR Gallery for her opening reception of her Rebirth Exhibit opening Oct. 9 through Jan.1, 2026. Hodge Podge is concert organized by students of the UL music business and recording arts programs. Unlike typical university music events, Hodge Podge is entirely organized, promoted, and produced by students which offers a rare, hands-on approach to the music industry. Hodge Podge 3 will take place on November 20th at the Blue Moon Saloon. Doors open at 6pm with pre party act, Meredith Guy.
