This year’s event will include a Holiday Art Walk Downtown hosted by the Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Festivities will move to the Lake Charles Civic Center grounds at 3:30 p.m. with a Christmas concert on the lakefront, lighting ceremony and fireworks extravaganza. Lake Charles Toyota, Entergy, Visit Lake Charles and McNeese Banners Series are the presenting sponsor for this year’s events.

  • The Department of Visual Arts' Ceramics Students at the University of Louisiana Lafayette brings back their 18th annual Pottery Sale! The sale will begin Thursday, December 8, from 7-10 p.m. at Fletcher Hall, and will continue Saturday, December 10th, from 10-6 p.m. This is a great way to get a handmade gift for those on your Christmas list, and see the beautiful works of art created by the UL students! Support from this event will assist in sending the ceramic students to the most important ceramics conference in the country.
  • On Monday, December 5, the Opelousas Museum presents an exhibit by emerging artists Ke’Shawn Collins and Ilea McGee. The reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Opelousas Museum, 315 N Main St, Opelousas. Come by to enjoy a vast display of paintings by these highly talented, up and coming artists. Refreshments will be served. Artists will have original works and prints for sale. The exhibit will remain through January 31.

One way of showing love is to accept responsibility. This twist on the classic Dickens' tale will appeal to all with its spirit of fun, forgiveness, and generosity.The show will open on Friday, December 2 with an opening night gala, featuring live Christmas music, themed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. It runs December 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and December 4, 11 and 18 at 2:00 p.m.
