Members of Acadiana Symphony Orchestra will be joined by Italian piano virtuoso, Francesco Mazzonetto to bring you a masterful performance in an intimate setting.

Words for You is a project of commissioned poems, stories and songs. Each festival supporter has the opportunity to commission an original work by a favorite author! The completed piece will be given to the patron, and all the works will be read aloud at a virtual performance.Deadline for submissions is August 20th.

Closer, by Patrick Marber, chronicles the love affairs, rivalries, seductions, and betrayals of four characters (two men, two women) in a spare, intense style -- sometimes coarse, sometimes obscene, but highly entertaining and evoking. "Rooted: Family Legacies in Lake Charles" exhibit that showcases the resiliency of a strongly rooted family in Southwest Louisiana. It's on view now in our first floor gallery until September 17.

Connecting Acadiana is an opportunity for Acadiana based artists and arts & cultural organizations to meet local, regional, state and national funders.

"Following an assessment of where my paintings were heading, I determined that it was time for a reset. I felt the need to return to the basics, and to concentrate on skills that make up the building blocks for my work. The most important being draftsmanship and using a simplified palette. As I was making the transition, I was invited to hold an exhibit here. After touring the space, I determined how to approach the task, and what the contents of the show would be. This body of work was produced to fulfill this purpose and to occupy these walls. This installation of paintings is the culmination of another journey. This project is envisioned as a multi-year, multi-destination exhibition, which will grow and adapt to new contexts of the Creole world as it is re-mounted at new destinations across the French-speaking world. The first iteration of this exhibition takes place at Acadiana Center for the Arts, Lafayette, LA, from September 10, 2022 to January 14, 2023.
