Iberia African American Historical Society - Soft Opening of the Center for Research and Learning

Lake Charles - Light up the Lake Christmas Celebration
Santa Claus is coming to town during the annual Light up the Lake Christmas Celebration on Saturday, November 26. This year’s event will include a Holiday Art Walk Downtown hosted by the Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Festivities will move to the Lake Charles Civic Center grounds at 3:30 p.m. with a Christmas concert on the lakefront, lighting ceremony and fireworks extravaganza. Lake Charles Toyota, Entergy, Visit Lake Charles and McNeese Banners Series are the presenting sponsor for this year’s events.
Zydeco & Creole Heritage Awards Sunday Nov. 13th

UL Department of Visual Art's 18th Annual Pottery Sale - Dec. 8-10th, 2022
The Department of Visual Arts' Ceramics Students at the University of Louisiana Lafayette brings back their 18th annual Pottery Sale! The sale will begin Thursday, December 8, from 7-10 p.m. at Fletcher Hall, and will continue Saturday, December 10th, from 10-6 p.m. This is a great way to get a handmade gift for those on your Christmas list, and see the beautiful works of art created by the UL students! Support from this event will assist in sending the ceramic students to the most important ceramics conference in the country.
The Opelousas Museum and Interpretive Center Presents the Emerging Artist Series - Dec. 5th, 2022
On Monday, December 5, the Opelousas Museum presents an exhibit by emerging artists Ke’Shawn Collins and Ilea McGee. The reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Opelousas Museum, 315 N Main St, Opelousas. Come by to enjoy a vast display of paintings by these highly talented, up and coming artists. Refreshments will be served. Artists will have original works and prints for sale. The exhibit will remain through January 31.
Cité des Arts Presents "An Acadiana Christmas Carol" - Dec. 3-18th. 2022
The story follows the transformation of Etta Scrooge from a disconnected, manipulative profiteer to an empathetic, active participant in the world. Fueled by the magic of Christmas, Etta Scrooge is visited by ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future who teach the valuable lesson that it is never too late to give and accept love. One way of showing love is to accept responsibility. This twist on the classic Dickens' tale will appeal to all with its spirit of fun, forgiveness, and generosity.The show will open on Friday, December 2 with an opening night gala, featuring live Christmas music, themed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. It runs December 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and December 4, 11 and 18 at 2:00 p.m.

UL Symphony Christmas Concert - Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022
The UL Symphony will present a Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 1, 7:00pm in Angelle Hall Auditorium. Musical highlights include Anderson-Christmas Festival, Vaughan Williams-Greensleeves, Mussorgsky-The Great Gate of Kiev, and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. Please join us for an evening of beautiful and inspiring holiday music! Admission is FREE.
