Cross That River, a musical journey, tells the story of Blue, a run-away slave who escapes from Louisiana to Texas and becomes one of America’s first Black Cowboys.   • Did you know that Mardi Gras had been celebrated in America for over 100 years by the time Governor Henry Warmoth made it an official holiday? In 1875, the governor made it official, creating Fat Tuesday as a legal Louisiana holiday.City Hall is celebrating this Mardi Gras season with the fabulous "Mardi Gras Morning" by artist Lauren Marie Breaux, located in their second floor gallery. “This exhibit shines a light on my favorite part of Mardi Gras, Tuesday morning", tells Breaux.Artwork is available for purchase so make sure to come in and grab something festive and fun for yourself!

  • John Isiah Walton has created a body of work entitled “Black Paintings,” totaling 100 artworks, that reflect on his personal experiences over the past seven years.Walton uses this thematic umbrella to work through ideas of the contemporary Black experience.
