Tune in to hear Fire of Tierra Caliente play on the Medicine Ball Caravan. They are fronted by violinist Paul Anastasio and his ensemble, featuring rare and traditional music from Mexico's Tierra Caliente region. The violin and guitar music includes boleros, danzónes, and waltzes. Fire of Tierra Caliente will be playing at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective on Thursday, September 25th, and at the Hideaway on Lee on Sunday, September 28th.

Visual artist, Peregrine Honig, is returning to Lake Charles for a series of masterclasses with students at McNeese University Oct. 6-8. Downtown Lake Charles welcomes Honig to the DPR Gallery for her opening reception of her Rebirth Exhibit opening Oct. 9 through Jan.1, 2026. We were honored to host Leyla McCalla for an artist talk and performance in Angelle Hall Fall 2025. In an intimate and inspiring session, Leyla traced the many voices and histories that shape her artistry — from Haitian twoubadou to Canray Fontenot, Debussy to Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou — weaving together performance, conversation, and reflections on her Haitian heritage and her life in New Orleans. It was a rare opportunity to learn from an artist whose work has graced the Smithsonian, major festivals, and stages around the world, and who continues to use her music as a powerful tool for storytelling and connection. A huge thank you to Leyla for her generosity, artistry, and time — and to everyone who joined us for this special event.

Le Grand Réveil Acadien 2025 is a multi-parish experience celebrating the lasting cultural impact of the Acadian people.
