Maria Zeringue
Host of The Louisiana Folklife Radio HourMaria Zeringue has directed the Louisiana Folklife Center since 2025. For the previous eight years, she was the Folk and Traditional Arts Director at the Mississippi Arts Commission. There, she managed the online publication Mississippi Folklife. Zeringue has published articles for the Smithsonian’s Folklife Magazine and the Louisiana Folklore Miscellany. She holds master’s degrees in French and Folklore from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Indiana University. Beyond her job, she is a potter and printmaker. She is passionate about comics, music, and art of all kinds.
