Julie Babineaux

Julie Babineaux is a Vermillion Parish native and a proud alumna of the University of
Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a degree in Traditional Music Studies with a
concentration on Electric Bass and Louisiana History. Her passion for Louisiana's rich
cultural heritage is evident in her work as a musician and cultural advocate.

Alongside her band, The Babineaux Sisters, Julie and her sister have created contemporary Cajun music for 18 years that celebrates the state's unique traditions and customs.

Julie joins the Vermilion Parish Schools program "Lache-Pas" eager to share our customs and rich history with the children of Vermilion Parish.
