UL Professors Dr. Maria Seger and Dr. Theodore Foster on Bayou to Beltway at 12:30 (Wednesday) March 10, 2021.
Bayou to Beltway welcomes Drs. Seger and Foster who have originated a speaker series and workgroup titled "Black Study Within and Beyond Crisis." This project was created in order to discuss and address issues of racial justice and economic justice, policing and inclusion. We discuss the role of Black Studies Departments in bringing an important focus on issues that matter to all of us, and the necessity of confronting the many ways that our society continues makes life difficult for people of color. We talk about the ways our community and university can confront racism and learn about communities that struggle for equality.
