Apres Midi: January 29, 2020 - Clayton Shelvin, Reggie Gray, and Joshua Morales; Elsa Dimitriadis

Our first interview today was with Clayton Shelvin, Reggie Gray, and Joshua Sage Morales, concerning the national premiere of dance company Flex Ave on their 2020 North American Tour! Acadiana Center of the Art presents this performance as part of ACA's Spotlight Series, focused on theatre, dance, and screen.

FLEX AVE is the new creation of dance pioneer Reggie “Regg Roc” Gray. Set to a continuous mix of reggae, hip hop and pop music, FLEX AVE. features 10 of the best Flexn dancers, all hailing from Brooklyn, NY. FLEX AVE. features group choreography as well as solo improvisational works and dance battles.  Characterized by a dance vocabulary all its own—Pauzin, Get-Low, Bone-Breaking—Flexn developed from various Jamaican street dance styles into a distinct art form that’s spread across the globe and has been embraced by the pop mainstream (as evidenced by Beyonce’s recent Coachella performance featuring several FLEXN dancers).

The performance takes place Thursday, January 30th at 7:30 pm at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. For more information on this fantastic event, please visit ACA's website here!

Secondly, we interviewed Elsa Dimitriadis, Director of Marketing and Communications of United Way of Acadiana to discuss their VITA Program.
