Today's interview is with Alicia Faciane concerning her new exhibit at the ACA, Close to Home.
Inspired by stories such as Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll and Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, in which animals possess people-like qualities such as table manners, Close to Home explores what would happen if animals came upon an actual table setting. In this project, wildlife were invited guests to handmade table settings in selected yards all over Lafayette Parish in South Louisiana. This exhibit was created to explore one simple question: What would happen if these fantastical table settings happened in real life?
