Recently, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the College of Liberal Arts, the Dupre Library, the College of the Arts and interested friends of the University and the Blanco family have joined forces to create the Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Public Policy Center at UL Lafayette in Dupre Library. When operational (2019) the Blanco Center will take the lead in the public policy realm in the areas of juvenile justice, poverty and economic development, education, participation, ethics and transparency, and women in politics. This is an exciting beginning for an institution likely to make a significant contribution to the state of Louisiana. Senator Landrieu and Dean Kellman discuss Governor Blanco's career and the origination, operation and likely benefits of the Blanco Center.
