Bayou to Beltway: October 9, 2019

Ms. Marguerite Green, a candidate for the position of Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry joins Bayou to Beltway this Wednesday. Ms. Green seeks to lead the Department of Agriculture and Forestry which is responsible for administering Louisiana’s forest lands covering 48% of the state’s total area and maintaining and regulating every aspect of the state’s agriculture. Together these enterprises contribute $10 billion annually to the Louisiana’s economy. Our conversation focuses on why she’s running for office; the programs she is interested in instituting, the effect of tariffs on Louisiana agriculture and forestry, the addition of hemp and marijuana cultivation, and the challenges of dealing with a quickly changing environment on Louisiana’s coasts and in our forests and fields.

Please join this lively conversation about agriculture and forestry with Marguerite Green, candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, on Bayou to Beltway 12:30 Wednesday. Right after Out to Lunch.
