Ms. Champagne, a Republican former state legislator, discusses her candidacy for Mayor-President, a position which serves as the chief executive for both Lafayette City and Lafayette Parish. We discuss the challenges facing Lafayette city and parish today, including storm and drainage, parish and city budgets, economic development, politics and efforts to diversify the economy in the aftermath of the oil bust.
